Lester Jindra was in the first-ever unit of the First Army Air Corps. In October 1924 he was killed near Columbus, Ohio, when he was struck by the propellor of the the plane of which he was the pilot. He was stationed at Wilbur Wright field, near Dayton.

Robert R. Jindra has been commissioned as ensign after completing the V-12 course at the University of Colorado, Boulder. The son of Mr. and Mrs. George F. Jindra of Dickey, N. D., Ensign Jindra spent, a week with his parents before leaving for the naval training station in t St. Simons Island, Georgia, for a course in radar.

Now serving with the Military Airlift Command at Travis. Tuma was decorated for meritorious service as an equipment repairman at Bien Hoa Air Force Base Vietnam.

Paul entered the Army in April 1970 and was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood., Mo. before going overseas. In 1972 he was promoted to Army Specialist five near Wildflecken, Germany. He was a truck driver with headquarters company, 2nd battalion of the 3rd Infantry Division’s 15th infantry.

Karl A. Ulrich
1918-2003
Son of Otto J. Ulrich and Erma Meineke
Karl was inducted into the Army on April 28, 1941, serving in the Pacific campaigns and receiving his commission of first lieutenant in Australia before returning to the States on leave in April 1944. In December 1944, he received orders to join the 69th Division of the First Army, which saw action in France, Belgium, and Germany. He was struck down by a sniper’s bullet in Leipzig, Germany, on April 18, 1945, receiving the Purple Heart Medal.
