LILLIAN ALICE TUMA was born 03 Nov 1894 in Town of Gibson, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin, daughter of Wenzel Tuma and Anna Jindra. She died 17 Nov 1980 in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin. She married FRANK RADEJ 29 Sep 1914 in St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Greenstreet, Manitowoc County. Frank was the son of PETER RADEJ and ANNA (HERLIK) WANISH. He was born 29 Jul 1886 in Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, and died 17 Jun 1962 in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, Manitowoc County, Frank and Lillian are buried in St. Ann’s Cemetery, Francis Creek.
Frank Radej bought the home farm on July 3, 1913 near the corner of what is now Hwy 310 and County R. Lillian and Frank were married 29 Sep 1914 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Greenstreet, Manitowoc County. The couple lived on this property until their deaths. Part of the farm is still standing. After Lillian’s death the house was rented out for a while then sold to the renters. A new home was built and the original farm house was torn down.
Lillian was a weaver. The church ladies would bring her clothing which was tore up into strips and then woven into rag rugs on her looms. After her death her daughter, Lucile inherited the looms. The looms are now in the custody of her granddaughter-in-law.

Frank suffered three strokes prior to his death.
In Lillian’s Funeral book her daughter, Lucille (Radey) Chaloupka wrote the following:
Mom had surgery, March 10 re-entered Holy Family Hospital Sept. 9 and never came home. Mom, with God’s help, passed peacefully away at 6:00 in the evening of Nov. 17, 1980, at Holy Family Hospital.

Mrs. Lillian Radey, 86 of 4221 North Highway 141 died Monday evening, November 17, at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot and 10 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, Francis Creek. The Rev. James Massart will officiate and burial will be in the Parish Cemetery.
Mrs. Radey, nee Lillian Tuma, was born Nov. 3, 1894, in the Town of Gibson, daughter of the late Wencel and Anna Jindra Tuma. She was married to Frank Radey in 1914 at GreenStreet(sic), Manitowoc County. He preceded her in death June of 1962.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. William (Lucille) Chaloupka of Route 1 Mishicot, a brother, Louis Tuma of Kalispell, Mont., a sister, Mrs. Vernon (Violet) Mirkes of Johnston Drive, Manitowoc, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A daughter, Eva, preceded her in death in 1968. Four brothers and three sisters also preceded her in death.
Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Wednesday, where a parish memorial service will be at 8:15 p.m.

Frank Radey, 75, of Rt. 4 Manitowoc, Sunday afternoon died of a stroke at Holy Family Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc and at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek, the Rev. John M. Haen officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Radey was born July 29, 1886, in the Town of Kossuth, son of the late Peter and Anna Herlik Radey. Sept. 29, 1914, he married Lillian Tuma at Greenstreet and the couple resided on the present farm on Route 4.
Mr. Radey was a member of Holy Name Society of St. Ann Church and Knights of Columbus Council No. 710 of Manitowoc.
Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. William Chaloupka Jr. of Mishicot and Mrs. George Arnold of Santa Cruz, California, Mrs. Anna Ginzl of Manitowoc and Mrs. Richard Stangel of Kewaunee, four grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. by parish, Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus members.
