Whoever reported the information for the 1900 census did not have all the facts straight. There are mistakes on the birthdates of individuals and they claim that Joseph was born in Wisconsin, which is incorrect. It also states Mary his wife was born in Wisconsin. I have found their birth records in the old country.

Escapes Death as Floor Drops
William Chaloupka, of route 3 Two Rivers, narrowly escaped death under the collapsing floor of his granary Monday, when it gave way under the weight of several tons of grain. He jumped to safety just as the grain poured down from the crumbling floor.
The farmer noticed the sagging of the second floor of the granary as he was engaged in threshing operations. He attempted to put wooden props to hold the floor when suddenly about 1,500 bushels of grain let go an poured down through the broken ceiling. A warning sound enabled Chaloupka to ash to a place of safety.
