  	Brussels Mrs. Mary Rouer, widow of the late Joseph Rouer, passed away shortly after midnight on Tuesday. In the death of Mrs. Rouer this town loses one of lts oldest citizens in the point of residence, she having made her bome in this town for the past 61 years. She was born in Belgium, Jan. 23, 1845, her maiden name being Mary Renier, and came to this county with her parents in 1857, when a girl of 12 years, and has made her home here continuously ever since. At that time it was only a primitive wilderness, there being no highways lald out in that part of the county. Her husband was a vetoran of the civil war. He died about eight years ago. Seven children survive to mourn the loss of a good, kind and dutlful mother. These are Frank, Fred, Mrs.Joseph (Mary) Vandertie, Joseph, Jule, Henry. Mrs. Chas. (Lucy) Vandertie of Lena, Wis, All the others are residents of this town with the exception of Fred, who makes his home at Green Bay. The funeral was held on Thursday morning from St. Michael's church, Misierro,' Rev. J. Schmidt officiating. The pallbearers were Louis Vandertie, Sr .: Victor Colaman, Emil Colsman, Alex Flemal, William and Zeraphine Delforge. Eleven-year-old Marie Venerante, with her parents and seven siblings, undertook the seven-week journey across the Atlantic aboard the ship Richard Morse, arriving at New York on 29 September 1856. The family proceeded west to join the Belgian-American community then taking root in the Door Peninsula of Wisconsin. There Marie Venerante met and married fellow Belgian immigrant and neighbor John Joseph Rouer. Together the couple farmed and raised a family of seven children: Francois Xavier (Frank) Rouer (1870- ) Alfred Joseph (Fred)Rouer (1872-1962) Mary Adele Rouer (1874-1960) Joseph Eugene Rouer (1879-1969) Henry Joseph Rouer (1881-1969) Jules Joseph Rouer (1881-1953) Lucy Mary Rouer (1883-1984) Marie Venerante died on 8 October 1918. She was buried in the cemetery of the family church, St Michaels, at Misiere, Wisconsin.
