  	Herman Tess Services for Herman C. Tess, 81, 78 W. Maple st., were held Saturday afternoon at St. Peter Lutheran chuch with the Rev. Theophil Baganz officiating. Interment was in Bayside cemetery. Mr. Tess died Thursday afternoon at Memorial hospital after a long illness. He was born Feb. 17, 1888 in West Kewaunee to Christof and Rosa Tess. He lived in the Sturgeon Bay area for the past 47 years, farming for 10 years, an employee of the former Pleck dairy for 35 years and until retiring, janitor of St. Peter's for 20 years. He was a member of the church's Men's club. Nov. 12, 1912 he married Minnie Jonas, who survives him. Others are five children, Eldon, Wallace and Kenneth, Sturgeon Bay, Mrs. Ed (linda) Smejkal, R.3 and Mrs. Kenneth (Gwen) Simonar, Two Rivers; 15 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. William (Bertha) Dietrich, Two Rivers. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, a brother Charles and a son Willard, killed in World War II. Part of the name of the Weber-Tess Amvet Post 51 is in Willard's honor. Davis Mortuary was in charge of the funeral. Paper unknown.
