Kalz, Germaine E.
Germaine E. Kalz, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, age 82, of Appleton, died Wednesday morning, September 28, 2005, at Century Oaks. Germaine was born March 18, 1923, to the late Leo and Josephine (Steber) Londo, in Antigo, grew up in Two Rivers and had been an Appleton resident for 55 years. She married Rudolph Kalz on April 22, 1950; he preceded her in death on October 14, 2004.
Germaine enjoyed counted cross stitch, knitting, crocheting and was a very good cook and baker. Germaine was a longtime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She will be greatly missed by two daughters: Debbie (Steve) Twomey, Phoenix, AZ; Sue (Mike) Sokel, Larsen, WI; six grandchildren: Holly, Jason (Gina), and Mike Twomey, Shane, Luke and Katherine Sokel, four great-grandchildren; her devoted sister, Bern Londo, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Rita Londo, Two Rivers; Lorraine Kalz, Milwaukee; a brother-in-law, Henry Kalz and his special friend, Lucy.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Londo.
The funeral liturgy for Germaine will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2005, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, corner of Fremont and Monroe Streets, Appleton, with Father Norm Krutzik officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. Friday, until the time of the mass. A memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to thank the staffs of Appleton Medical Center, Franciscan Care Center and Century Oaks for their loving care and support.

Miss Londo Rudy Kalz are married
At 10 o'clock this morning before the altar of St. Luke Catholic church in Two Rivers, Miss Germaine Londo daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Londo of 1811 20th street, Two Rivers, was married to Rudy Kalz of Appleton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kalz of route 3, Antigo. The Rt. Rev. M. Hugo performed the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a dress of bur-mil satin with a nylon sheer yoke forming an off the shoulder effect neckline, outlined with a band of embroidered lace which formed a bustle in the back, and the long sleeves were also trimmed with lace.
Her fingertip length veil of fine illusion, edged with lace was caught to a crown of satin interwoven with pearls. She carried a bouquet of lilies and red roses and her sterling silver rosary was a gift from tho groom.
Miss Bernadine Londo. sister of the bride, was matron of honor and bridesmaids were; Carol Sladler. niece of the groom and Georgia Steber, cousin of the bride.
Their pale blue dresses were designed alike with satin bodices, small collars and an embroidered peplum. The skirts were of marquiselle. They wore matching gloves and pale blue crowns of braided satin. They carried colonial bouquets of white carnations and yellow roses. Their rhinestone bracelets were gifts from the bride.
Karl West was best man, and groomsmen were Frank Kalz, brother of the groom, and James Londo, brother of the bride.
The bride's mother wore a grey print dress with black and white accessories and a corsage of yellow roses.
A breakfast was served to the bridal party at the home of the bride's parents and dinner was served to 80 guests at Eastwin hall. A reception followed for 100 guests. Miss Adeline Berres and Caroline Steber poured at the reception.
When the couple leaves on a two week honeymoon to Yellowstone park the bride will be wearing a light blue suit with navy and white accessories. They will reside at 1217 South Jefferson street, Appleton, when they return.
The groom is a maintenance man at Riverside Paper mill and the bride was employed at the Hamilton Manufacturing company in Two Rivers before her marriage.
