- The naturalization papers of Johann Boy Sonksen were filed in Manitowoc County. They tell us that he was born in Schleswig-Holstein, subject to the Crown of Denmark in 1828. He immigrated to America and landed at the port of New York in June 1851. He renounced all allegiance to Frederick VII King of Denmark. His papers are dated November 1st 1852.

- Cockle Machine
B. Soenksen & Sons, of Mishicott, have just placed a new cockle machine in their flour mill and farmers wishing to have the cockle taken from their seed wheat can have it done at their mill at a small cost.

- Soenksen's grist mill now runs day and night and Mr. Soenksen says it's hard work to keep up with the trade even then. Some idea of the extent of that trade may be gathered from a statement of the fact that there were received at the mill during the month of November three hundred and thirty-nine loads of grain.

- Probably never in the history of Mishicott has the water been known to be as high as it was this spring.
For the past week the road leading south was flooded to the debth of over two feet. Jacob Miller and wife were removed to dry land in a boat. The dam at this place was somewhat demolished, but can be easily repaired.
Soenksen's Mills slide went out slick and clean. At Tisch Mills a considerable damage was done to the
side dams. At the Deacon's Mills on the Neshoto river a more general sweep was made.

B. Soenksen Mill Owner of Mischicott (sic), Succumbs, Age 86 Years.

From Saturday's Daily
B. Soenksen, a member of the Two Rivers lodge of Odd Fellows, died at the Odd Fellow's home here last evening about 6:30 o'clock. He was 68 (sic) years old. He will be buried at Mishicott, Manitowoc county, Monday.
For many years Mr. Soenksen owned and operated a grist and sawmill at Mishicott. Last August he and his wife became residents of the home. For several weeks, Mr. Soenksen has been failing in health and death ensued last evening.
His wife left the city at 4:30 o'clock over the Northwestern road, with the remains of the husband, for Manitowoc. A son who came today accompanied her.
