  	Funeral Held Tuesday For Melvin L. Gehrt Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church in Olivia for Melvin L. Gehrt, a resident of this community for several years, who passed away Nov. 13 at a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He was 39 years of age and had been failing in health for the past four years. A short service was conducted at the Gehrt home, near Olivia, at 1:30 o'clock, followed by the church services at 2 o'clock. Rev. I. Lenz officiated and interment was made in the city cemetery at Redwood Falls. Pallbearers were Donald Frazee, Marv Gustavson, Gordon Ulrickson, Jerome Kircher, Lloyd Fahse and Aberhardt Grabow. Melvin Louis Gehrt was born Aug. 12, 1909 at Mallard, Iowa, the son of Frank Gehrt of Morgan. On Nov. 1, 1935, he was united in marriage to Doris Zamzow at Morton. The family lived near Olivia, where Mr. Gehrt farmed since 1941, except for one year when he lived at Des Moines, Iowa. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mary Ann, 10; his father, Frank Gehrt of Morgan; threes sisters, including Mrs. Frank Marks of Olivia; and six brothers, including Roland of Olivia. --Olivia Times Journal November 18, 1948
