- Mrs. Emil (Evelyn B.) Carstens, 64, of 3809 Stone Road, Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, July 19, 1989 at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate and entombment will be in Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth.
Mrs. Carstens was born July 17, 1925 in the Town of Rockland, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Henry and Esther Reimer Behnke. She married Emil H. Carstens on October 14, 1944 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Town of Liberty. Mrs. Carstens was a member of Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Farm Bureau Organization, Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church and Ladies of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Emil; three children, Arnold (June) Carstens of rural Manitowoc, Diane (Stephen) Kortens of rural Whitelaw and Caroline (Gerald) Fischer of rural Manitowoc; three brothers, Willard (Eunice) Behnke, Harold (Geraldine) Behnke and Henry (Diane) Behnke, all of Manitowoc; four sisters, Elmira (Charles) Preston of Whitelaw, Doris Mae (Leroy) Laabs of the Town of Newton, Delores (Robert) Eickert of Brillion and Beverly (Gene) Sonnabend of Brillion; six grandchildren, Nancy, Jonathan, Karen Carstens, Lee Kortens, Jeremy and Sara Fischer. She was preceded in death by two infant brothers.
Friends may call at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home 6 pm to 9 pm Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 11 am and then at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church from 12 noon to the time of services.
