  	Virginia was the younger of two daughters of Jesse Earl Jordan (1896-1947) and his first wife, Myrtle Bates (1896-1958). She appears in Minneapolis in the census of 1920, age 2, as a granddaughter, living with her parents and sister in the home of her mother's mother and her second husband Herman Jones. In 1930, at age 12, she lives in San Francisco with her parents and sister Frances, age 14. At the time of her death 6 years later, her residence was 5925 Foothill Blvd., Oakland, CA. The 1930 census is the last that records this family as intact. In August 1931, Virginia's father married her aunt, Myrtle's sister Louise Bates. Virginia married Howard Lawrence Woolf (1914-1998) in 1933, at age 17. The couple had one child, Howard Jr., in 1935. Virginia died on 12 April 1936 in Jackson Lake Hospital, Oakland, CA., only 18 years old. Her huband remarried on 27 Aug. 1937 and his second wife, Ida Mae Senna, raised his son Howard and his and Ida's own children, Raymond and Penny.
