Tess, Katherine G. (Kitty)
Katherine (Kitty) Tess, 74, died peacefully at 11:05 p.m. on Jan. 27, 200 5, at Door County Memorial Hospital, after a brave struggle with several i llnesses. She lived in Sturgeon Bay, her entire life. Born on July 23, 193 0, she was the daughter of D.C. and Marion Pisha. After graduating from St urgeon Bay High School in 1948, she attended the Business Institute of Mil waukee. On Oct. 10, 1953, she married Kenneth M. (Pooky) Tess. Kitty was t he President of Pisha Insurance Agency, Inc., established in 1924 by her f ather and after a long and dedicated career of over 50 years, she and h er sister, Terry retired from the business on Jan. 1, 2005. She was a devo ut member of Corpus Christi Parish and belonged to the Catholic Daughte rs of America, St. Ann’s Society and Sturgeon Bay Business & Profession al Women.
She is survived by her husband, Pooky; her children, Diane, Milwaukee; Sus an (Robert) Haberli, Whitefish Bay; Mike (Jenny) Tess, Sturgeon Bay; and h er dear sister, Theresa (Howard) Bubnik, Sturgeon Bay. She was the belov ed grandmother of Sarah (fiance, George Bullock Jr.), Shreveport, La.; Mat thew, Kurt, Beth, Tim Haberli, Whitefish Bay; and Stephie Tess, Sturgeon B ay. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Linda Robillard, Gwen Simo nar and Mildred Tess; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Forbes Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 30, fr om 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Bu rial will be at Corpus Christi on Monday, Jan. 31, at 10:30 a.m. with t he Rev. Anthony Birdsall officiating. There will be no visitation at the c hurch before the service.
Memorials in her name can be made to Corpus Christi Parish or the Americ an Lung Association.
