Robillard Sr., Gilbert L.
Gilbert L. Robillard Sr., 92, Sturgeon Bay, died at the Dorchester Heal th and Rehab. Center on Jan. 31, 2005. He was born in Door County on Fe b. 28, 1912, to the late William and Mary (Shaw) Robillard. He owned and o perated Deep Rock Oil Company for many years. Gilbert also farmed and h ad a cherry orchard in the town of Gardner. He married Mabel Witt who prec eded him in death on Dec. 26, 1983. He then married Linda (Tess) Smejk al on Jan. 12, 1985.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; three children, Gilbert (Linda) Jr., S un City, Ariz.; Carol (Ted) Elliott, Verona, N.Y.; and Arlyn (Gary) Lond o, Sturgeon Bay; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one brothe r, Wilmer (Lillian) Robillard, Green Bay; two sisters, Glennie DeBroux, Gr een Bay; Bernice (Don) Mathison, Sturgeon Bay; a brother-in-law, Kenneth “ Pooky” Tess, Sturgeon Bay; and a sister-in-law, Gwen Simonar, Two River s; two step-daughters, Mary (Gene) Wetak, Sturgeon Bay; Debra Peterson, St urgeon Bay; six step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Chu rch with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Knapp officiating. Burial will be at Baysi de Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. unt il the time of services.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
