    The Northern Hospital for the Insane is ideally located on the shores of Lake Winnebago, at Winnebago, Wis., on the C & N.W. Railway approximately 4 miles from Oshkosh, Wis.

    This institution is located in what is known as the Northern Hospital district and persons adjudicated insane by the courts in the following counties are admitted to the institution. (Manitowoc is included in the list).

    Suicide Atempt Victim Is Resting in Hospital

    Manitowoc-Undersheriff Lester Nichols said Tuesday that Mrs. William Chaloupka, somewhere in her 50s, Route 1 Mishicot, is resting at the Holy Family hospital in Manitowoc after a suicide attempt at her home early Monday afteroon.

    Mrs. Chaloupka, whom Sheriff Clarence Baryenbruch described as 'despondent," attempted to take her life on Monday by slashing her wrists. Fortunately, Sheriff Baryenbruch said, "she didn't cut deep enough." Mrs. Chaloupka was coated with blood when found by friends who immediately called the sheriff's department.

    A grand picnic and ball will be held at Fischerville hall July 15. Afternoon dancing will be at Robinson's wood. In the evening dancing at the hall. Music by Gloe-Naidl orchestra.

    Although we don't know that the Chaloupka's attended. It is highly likely everyone in the community attended.

    Stricken with a heart attack, Joseph Chaloupka, 77, resident of the town of Mishicot, died at his home near Fischerville Thursday.

    Funeral services will be held from the home at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the Rev. Franklin E. Schlueter, pastor of the Two Rivers and Mishicot Evangelical churches, officiating. The body may be viewed at the home.

    Born in Bohemia, March 18, 1862. Mr. Chaloupka was eight years old when his parents came to this country. They settled on the farm in the town of Mishicot. He was married on Feb. 11, 1888 to Mary Shupeta, who preceded him in death.

    Mr. Chaloupka retired several years ago, but remained on the homestead farm. He is survived by two sons, Edward of the town of Kossuth and William at home, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchildren.

    Died:
    Mrs. Joseph Chaloupka, who was taken ill scarcely two weeks ago having been confined to her bed due to her critical condition with no signs of improvement was removed to the Holy Family hospital on Tuesday, remaining there but a few days as it was believed that she had apparently overcome the attack. But she suddently took a turn for the worse and on Thursday evening at 6 o'clock passed away a victim of Bright's diseaase. The decedent was a native of Bohemia, having been born there fifty-one years ago, and came to this country when a girl with her parents who made their home in the town of Gibson. She was married to Mr. Chaloupka, thirty-three years ago, the couple making their home in the town of Mishicot, where they resided until some years past when their son William took possession of the farm and they have made their home there since. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her untimely death two sons, Edward of Kossuth and William of Mishicot. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Supita. Three brothers and one sister also survive. The brothers are, Joe of Francis Creek, Jacob of Waukesha, Frank of Manitowoc, and Mrs. Chas. Hagenow of this place. The funeral was held Monday at 10 o'clock from the late home with interment in the Mishicot cemetery. The Rev. Tepley of Melnik performend the last rites.

    Brights disease is kidney disease, usually combined with high blood pressure.

    Mrs. Wenzel Houzik (sic) died Friday night at the state hospital where she has been undergoing treatment. She was 60 years of age and is survived by her husband and eight children, Mrs. John Blaha and Mrs. John Fronek, of Antigo; Mrs. Emil Kloida of this city, Mrs. Frank Munz, Mrs. William Chaloupka of Mishicott, Anton of Gibson and George and Wenzel of this city. Deceased has always made her home at Gibson until a year ago when she was pelledto (sic) give up her work because of illness. The funeral was held from the late home.
