Notes from Two Rivers

Mrs. Dorothea Schmidt, aged 71 years died at her home in this city on February 22nd. For more than a year she has been suffering from the infirmities of old age. She was born in 1844 near Salzwedel, Prussian Province of Saxony and came to this country with her parents when 18 yers of age.

The family settled in the Town of Two Rivers. In 1863 she was married to Joachim Schmidt who died about ten years ago. Since the death of her husband, Mrs. Schmidt has made her home in this city.

The deceased is survived by ten children who are Mrs. Heman (sic) Luebke of this city, Louis and Henry Schmidt and Mrs. Chas. Meineke of the Town of Two Rivers, John who resided in Michigan, Ernest,August, Otto and Mrs. Bach and Mrs. Barbart of Chicago.

The funeral will be held on Friday afternoon from St. John's Lutheran church, Rev. Doehler officiating.
