    MARSHALL - Services for David Allen Connelly, 43, of Marshall will be at 2 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be at the church, one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.

    Mr. Connelly died suddenly Thursday, July 29, 1999, at his home.

    David Allen Connelly was born Feb. 15, 1956, to Christian Earl and Genevieve Ella (Freitag) Connelly in Marshall. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. He attended Marshall High School and was in the Minnesota National Guard in 1974. On November 8, 1982, he and Sara Marie Stockslager were married at the First Lutheran Church. He worked for the Hauge Eggs Company in Marshall for 16 years. He enjoyed spending time with this wife and children, at school activities, sports, camping, bowling and movies. He participated in Boy Scouts, fishing and outings with his extended family and friends.

    Survivors include his wife; son, Matthew of Marshall, daughters, Holly and Sandy, both of Marshall, brother, Don of Brooklyn Center, Gary of Boyd and Bill of Tracy; sisters, Susan Stripling of Cottonwood, Judy Williams of Marshall and Mary of Boyd; and many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and a niece.

    GHENT -- Services for Christian "Chris" Earl Connelly 72, of Ghent, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation without reviewal, at the Hamilton-Birk Funeral Home in Marshall will be from noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday, with an 8 p.m. prayer service and will continue Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Burial will be in the Marshall Cemetery.

    Mr. Connelly died Saturday, March 8, 1997, at his home in Ghent.

    Christian Earl Connelly was born Dec. 6, 1924, in Sebeka, to Earl Wayne and Anna (Larsen) Connelly. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and attended rural school near his parents home. He served in Okinawa during World War II and was awarded the Bronze Star. In 1952, he and Genevieve Ella Frietag were married in Marshall. They lived in Marshall and in 1979 he moved to Ghent. He worked as a driver for Archer Daniels, mechanical work for Bennett Industries, construction worker in Garvin Park, janitorial work at Southwest State University, and was a supervisor at the D.A.C. in Redwood Falls. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Marshall and also the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

    Survivors include his sons, Don of Brooklyn Park, Gary of Dawson, David of Marshall and Bill of Tracy; daughters, Judy Peterson of Tracy, Mary
    Connelly of Boyd and Sue Stripling of Marshall; special friend JoAnn Naber of Ghent; nine grandchildren; Ms. Naber's three grandchildren; sister, Lizzie Hielrate of New York Mills; brother, John of New York Mills; and many nieces and nephews.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, infant twin sons who died at birth and one sister.

    Services will be held Tuesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin for Ella Freitag, 94 formerly of the Morgan area, who died Friday, Dec. 27, 1991 at the Burns Nursing Home of Hutchinson. Rev. Rob Kemppaninen will officiate and Jan Rodvik will be the organist.

    Pallbearers will be Jim, Roger, and Rick Freitag, Ivan Hagen, Rick Ball, and Jim Leuze. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Morgan with Nelson Funeral Home of Redwood Falls in charge of the arrangements.

    Visitation will be today (Monday) from 5-8 and Tuesday from 8 a.m. - noon at the funeral home and one hour prior to service at the church.

    Ella M. Zamzow was born Aug. 9, 1897 in Three Lakes Township, Redwood County to Julius and Amilia Block Zamzow. She grew up on the family farm and attended country schools near Clements.

    On June 3, 1919 she married Clarence Freitag. The couple farmed north of Morgan until 1949. She then moved to Marshall and then to Mankato in 1953, where she lived until 1982. Then she entered Franklin Health Care Center and remained there until she became a resident of Burns Manor Nursing Home in 1985. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church of Franklin.

    Survivors include three sons Ervin and his wife Althea of Danube, Charles and his wife Loretta of Mankato, and Sylvester and his wife Ruth of Fairfax; three daughters Florence Helenbolt of Park Rapids, Delores Miller of Marshall, and LaVone Christnagel of Mankato; 39 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and four sisters Frida Fredrick of Springfield, Mabel Mude of Morgan, Anna Johnson of Springfield, Mabel Mude of Morgan, Anna Johnson of Springfield, and Lilly Gehrt of Lamberton. She was preceded in death by one son Melvin, one daughter Genevieve, and several brothers and sisters.
