    BREEZY POINT -- Janice Ann Hellie, 57, Breezy Point, died Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at her home.

    She was born March 24, 1942, in Brown County, to Delbert and Pearl (White) Nelson. She attended school in Franklin, graduating from Franklin High School in 1960. She married J. Gregory Hellie on Aug. 26, 1961, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin. She attended Lakewood Community College in White Bear Lake and earned her registered nurse degree. She worked as an RN for United Hospital in St. Paul and Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater. Following her retirement, they moved to Breezy Point. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, where she founded the Parish Nurse Program. She was president of the Breezy Point Women's Club and a member of the Pelican Lake Conservation Club, Sons of Norway, Hospice Nurse, and the Crow Wing County Health Board.

    Survivors include her husband of Breezy Point; a daughter, Kristin Hellie-Vogel, Mankato; a son, Joseph Hellie, Sartell; four grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Anderson, Gilbert, Ariz.

    Her parents, and a sister, Debra Nelson, died earlier.

    Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Pequot Lakes with Rev. David Stevens officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in the Breezy Point Cemetery.

    Friends may call at Brenny Funeral Chapel of Baxter from 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

    Delbert Nelson, 71, retired Franklin area farmer and electrician, died Monday at Sunwood Care Center, Redwood Falls.

    Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls with Rev. Iler P. Anderson officiating. Rev. Anderson will sing and Mrs. Carolyn Marguth will be organist.

    Pallbearers will be Gary and Ernest Serbus. Ken and Herbert Nelson, Carl Severi and Leonard Bratsch. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.

    Friends may call at the funeral home this evening and until the time of service Wednesday.

    Mr. Nelson was born May 10, 1909 at Ruthon, IA a son of Kitel and Clara Johnson Nelson. When he was a youth, the family moved to Sleepy Eye where he attended school.

    His marriage to Pearl White took place at Morton June 6, 1941. They made their home in Franklin where he was self employed as a farmer and electrician. He retired in 1979 due to poor health.

    He was an Air Force veteran of World War II, member of St. Luke's Church and the American Legion.

    Survivors include his wife; daughters Mrs. Gregory (Janice) Hellie of White Bear Lake and Mrs. Harlan (Carol) Anderson of Anchorage, AK; three grandchildren; and brothers Ben, John, Clarence and Alvin all of Franklin. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra, in 1975, two brothers and one sister.

    Pearl Nelson, Mrs. Douglas Sherman, 70 of Franklin died on Monday May 22 at her home in Franklin. Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin, with burial taking place in the Franklin City Cemetery.

    Pearl Irene Nelson was born on September 30, 1923 in Bandon Township to Howard and Ida White. She lived with her family in Renville county and attended District #100 Elementary Schools and Morton High School.
    On June 6, 1941 she married Delbert Nelson in Morton. Pearl was the Director of Food Services at the Franklin Health Care Center for 13 years, last workin in 1986. Delbert died on December 8, 1980. On March 10, 1984, Pearl married Douglas Sherman at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. They lived in Franklin. Pearl was a member of the St. Luke's Lutheran Church and was active in her church.

    Pearl is survived by her husband Douglas Sherman of Franklin, two daughters, Janice Hellie and Carol Anderson. Also surviving are three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers Donald and Delbert White; and a sister Gladys Serbus. Pearl was preceded in death by her first husband and a daughter, Debra.

    Funeral services for Pearl Nelson Sherman, 70, of Franklin were conducted Wednesday, May 25 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin, with burial in the Franklin City Cemetery.

    Mrs. Nelson Sherman died Monday, May 12, 1994 at her home.

    She is survived by her husband Douglas Sherman of Franklin; daughters and son-in-law, Janice and J. Gregory Hellie of White Bear Lake, and Carol Anderson of Anchorage, Alaska; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Pearl White of Springfield, and Delbert and Ruby White of Drain, Oregon; and a sister Gladys Serbus of Olivia.

    She was preceded in death by her first husband, Delbert on December 8, 1980, and a daughter, Debra.
