Pioneer Rest Cemetery There is a grave marker in Plot [18-2] that gives her date of birth 1877 date of death 1923 ossw. Fred T. Sr. In that plot as well there is a marker that says Ida Freitag Jonas bur. 10 -22-1956

The story has been told by Ida's son Frederick William that Ida died after being kicked by a horse. He stated he was standing next to his mother when she was kicked. Fred T., Frederick William's father blamed him for the accident. Frederick William was forced to quit school in order to take care of his younger siblings.

In 1956, Ida's son Harry, drove to Minnesota to gather the remains of Ida and bring them back to Wisconsin. It has been told by her granddaughter (Elaine Jonas Chaloupka) that the remains fit inside a shoe box. There is conflicting stories as to why the body was disinterred and moved to Two Rivers. Some say it was because a Highway was being reconstructed in Morton, over the cemetery grounds. An old timer from the area, stated the cemetery Ida was buried in was not affected by the construction. But she was moved anyway. Ida was re-buried in Pioneer Rest Cemetery Two Rivers.
