Elva I. Baker
Elva I. Baker, age 87, of Bayfield, passed away, Tuesday, April 27, 20 04 at Memorial Medical Center in Ashland, with her loving family by her side.
She was born April 1, 1917 in Two Rivers, the daughter of William and Meta (Wentholz) Blum. Elva attended schools in Two Rivers. She married Harvey Baker on Sept. 5, 1936 in Menomonie. The couple moved to Bayfield, where they lived for more than 30 years. They also wintered in Tucson, Ariz., for 19 years. Elva enjoyed sewing, gardening, fish fries and spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her good sense of humor and for always having a smile on her face.
She is survived by her daughter: Ann L. Bennett of Washburn; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister: Edna Steger of Two Rivers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Harvey on May 15, 1995; parents; infant son: Richard; a brother: Herbert; and four sisters: Dorothy, Martha, Alma and Marie.
Eastern Star and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (TODAY ), April 29, 2004 at the Bayfield Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004 at the Forest View Cemetery in Two Rivers.
Arrangements are by Bratley Funeral Home of Washburn.

On New Year's Day, Wm. Blum and Miss M. Wenholz were joined in marriage in the local Lutheran Church by Pastor G. Vater, followed by a marriage celebration in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Wenholz. The young couple will make their home here in our village where Mr. Blum has taken over his mother's estate. He is employed by the local post office as a rural carrier.
