- LOUIS SCHMITT DIES OF INJURIES AFTER FALL FROM HAYRACK
Hurts Prove Fatal after his Accident
Prominent Town of Two Rivers Man to Be Buried Wednesday
Injuries sustained when he fell off a hay rack Thursday morning proved fatal to Louis Schmidt, 68, a prominent resident of the town of Two Rivers, who died at the Two Rivers Municipal hospital at three o'clock this morning
Fails to Recover
Mr. Schmidt was removed to the local hospital from his home Sunday night when his condition became critical. He had suffered three broken ribs, a broken shoulder blade and internal injuries in the fall. Because of his advanced age he failed to rally.
Funeral Services will be held from the home at 1:30 p.m. and at St. John's Lutheran church, where he was a devout member, at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. Interment will be in Pioneers' Rest cemetery.
Widow Survives
Mr. Schmidt was born in the town of Two Rivers June 12, 1964. After his marriage in 1889 to Lena Schwake, who survives him, they moved to Sheboygan where they resided for 12 years, he having been engaged in the brick business. The family returned to this city where Mr. Schmidt was a millwright at the Hamilton plant for three years. In 1909 they returned to the old homestead on Route 3 town of Two Rivers, where Mr. Schmidt resided since.
Besides his widow he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Henry Greenwood of this city, and a son, William Schmidt of Chicago. He also leaves three sisters, Mrs. Herman Luebke and Mrs. Minnie Meinecke, both of this city, and Mrs. Henry Bach of Chicago, and five brothers, Henry of the town of Two Rivers, John, E.A., O.E., and A.T. Schmidt, all of Chicago. The family has requested no flowers be sent.
