Lucile Barbara Nesbit, age 89, nee Schmidt, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2004. She was born and raised in Chicago and attended Ravenswood Grade School, Lake View High School and Rockford College. Her husband James Nesbit to whom she was married for 63 years, preceded her in death in 1997. They lived in Chicago and Winnetka, IL. until 1978. They retired to Islamorada, FL. and in 1987 moved to Shell Point Retirement Village in Fort Myers, FL. Barbara was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, active in service organizations and volunteered with the Red Cross in the 1940's. She enjoyed sewing, painting, fishing and traveling.
Mrs. Nesbit is survived by her daughter Nancy McMichael (Malcolm) of Northbrook, IL. and two grandchildren, Barbara Flanagin (Norris) of Northbrook, IL. and Malcolm McMichael, III (Betsy) of Carbondale, CO. and two great grandchildren, James and Kathryn Flanagin.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers 33908. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 PM, February 14, 2004 at the Village Church at Shell Point Village. Arrangements have been handled by Harvey-Engelhardt-Metz Funeral Home and Crematory, 1600 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers.

Lucile Barbara Nesbit, nee Schmidt, 89, formerly of Chicago and Winnetka, died Jan. 4 in Ft. Myers, Fla.
Mrs. Nesbit was born in Chicago. She attended Ravenswood Elementary School, Lake View High School and Rockford College.
She retired to Islamorada, Fla. in 1987, and moved to Shell Point Retirement Village in Fort Myers.
She was an elder in the Presbyterian Church, and had been active in service organizations. In the 1940s, she volunteered with the Red Cross.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy (Malcolm) McMichael of Northbrook; two grandchildren, Barbara (Norris) Flanagin of Northbrook and Malcolm (Betsy) McMichael III of Carbondale, Colo.; and two great-grandchildren, James and Kathryn Flanagin.
Mrs. Nesbit was preceded by her husband, James.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Feb. 14, at the Village Church at Shell Point Village in Fort Myers. Memorial donations may be made to Hope Hospice of Lee County, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers FL 33908.
