Died Schneider-At his home in West Kewaunee, on Friday evening, April 11, 1890, Mr. John Schneider, age 63 years. Deceased was born at Wertheim, Bavaria, and came to this country with his family in the year 1844, and setttled in Kewaunee county in 1851, thus making him one of the pioneer settlers of this part of the state. He enlisted and served three years in the late war between the north and south and was a member of Co. A 27th Wis. Vols. He was a highly respected farmer and beloved by all who knew him. Mr. Schneider is survived by a wife and five grown-up children, three sons and two daughters. He was an honored member of J.M. Read Post G.A.R. of this city, which organization attended the funeral in a body as did also the members of R.L. Wing Camp, S.V. The funeral which took place from the Lutheran church in this city on Tuesday afternoon was very largely attended notwithstanding the poor roads, which showed the esteem in which the deceased was held.
