Fall Proves Fatal to Aged County Woman
Mrs. Mary Skarvan, 82, a resident of the county for 64 years passed away last night at the hospital here. She suffered a broken hip in a fall at her home in Kellnersville three weeks ago an was brought to the hospital here but complications developed, which coupled with the extreme age of the patient caused her death.
Born in Bohemia in 1847, Mrs. Skarvan, nee Mary Herlek (sic) came to this country at the age of eighteen and settled in Kossuth, Manitowoc county. At the time of her marriage to Mr. Skarvan in 1849 the couple moved to Kellnersville, Mr. Skarvan die twenty-nine years ago.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at nine o'clock at the St. Joseph's church at Kellnersville.
besides twenty three grandchildren and six great grandchildren she is survived by six children an they are John Skarvan of Kellnersville, Fred Skarvan of Francis Creek, Mrs. Ada Kohout of Larrabee, Mrs. Anton Lesky an Mrs. Anton Novy of Manitowoc and Mrs. George Stangel, Two Rivers. One brother, John Herlek also survives.
