NORMAN FRONEK
Norman Fronek, Antigo, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001 at home under the came of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 87 years old.
He was born on July 1, 1914, in the town of Ackley, a son of the late John and Emma (Honzik) Fronek.
On Sept. 9, 1939 he married Hilda Frisch at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1996.
Mr. Fronek graduated from Antigo High School in 1932. He attended the Langlade County Normal School and the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.
He taught school until 1950 and owned and operated a dairy farm.
Mr. Fronek served on the Langlade County Board and was one of the original aldermen of the Antigo City Council as well as a member of the school board.
He also served on the board of the American Dairy Association, the Farmer's Home Administration and the Badger Breeders Cooperative. He was director at Production Credit Association, as well as president of Antigo Milk Products Cooperative.
Mr. Fronek was a member of Peace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane (James) Block, Spring Valley, Minn., Janice (Merritt) Schmidt, Gresham; three sons, David (Karlynn) Fronek, Edina, Minn., Tom (Patricia) Fronek, Menasha, and Dan (Kirsten) Fronek, Woodbury, Minn.; 10 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a sister, Clara Steber, Polar, and a brother, Edward Fronek, Antigo.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Harry Sr., John Jr., Ervin and Raymond Fronek.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at Peace Lutheran Church. Rev. Joseph Marsh will officiate. Burial will be in Bohemian National Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday from 3 until 7 p.m. at the Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and Monday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
A memorial has been established in Mr. Fronek's name.
