Marie F. Thede
Marie Thede, 79, a long time resident of Atlantic, died at the Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE on Saturday, June 3, 2006.
Marie was born on March 20, 1927, the daughter of William Hoyt and Esther (Holland) Smith, in Greencastle, Iowa. She attended East High School and Iowa Methodist Nursing School in Des Moines. She practiced as a registered nurse and was employed a number of years at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Marie was married to Robert Marvin Skoog on February 1, 1947. The couple raised five children. Robert died in 1966. Marie was again married in April of 1973, in Atlantic, to Raymond Carl Thede. Raymond passed on in 1985. They enjoyed their many children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and active in her NGA (Neighbors Get Acquainted) Club and her bridge club. Her special interests included quilting and gardening.
Marie is survived by her children:
David R. Skoog and his wife, Dorothy of Marietta, GA and their children, Tiffany Marie, Justin Robert and Heidi CarolN.
John Skoog and his wife, Mary of Wheatland, WY and their children, Karina Marie Dierks, Louisa Martene and Jeppa William
James W. Skoog and his wife, Janis of Tucson, AZ;
Elle Taylor of Denver, CO and children, Lindsay Kay DeGrande and Ashley Sarah Ftizsimmons
Linda K. Skoog of Denver, CO and daughters, Nichole Marie Hansen and Sarah Marie MacIntyre
Her stepchildren: Ivan Thede and his wife, Denise of Lakeville, IA and children, Chad Thede, Leslie McCambridge and Kristen Thede
Robert Thede and his wife, Rosemary of Mankato, MN and children, Nicole and Michael
Kristi Gravaes and her husband, Jim of Omaha, NE.
Also, three great grandchildren, Aidan Thede, Aspen Thede and Ty Luna; and her brother Howard Smith and his wife, Donna of Des Moines, IA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Skoog; her husband, Raymond Thede and her parents.
