  	Tess, Kenneth M. "Pooky" Kenneth "Pooky" Tess, 79, died peacefully Tuesday, April 5, 2005, in Sturgeon Bay, after several months of illness. Pooky was born September 4, 1925, and lived on the west side of Sturgeon Bay his entire life. He was the son of Herman and Minnie (Jonas) Tess. He was a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II from 1943-46 and served in the Pacific. On October 10, 1953, he married Katherine "Kitty" (Pisha) Tess and they were together for over 51 years. She preceded him in death this past January. Upon returning from the service, he worked at the shipyard. After that, he was an insurance salesman for nearly 50 years at Pisha Insurance Agency. He retired in 2003. He is survived by his three children, Diane, Milwaukee, Susan Haberli (Robert), Whitefish Bay, and Mike (Jenny), Sturgeon Bay; his beloved grandchildren, Sarah (George Bullock), Matthew, Kurt, Beth and Tim Haberli and Stephie Tess; his sisters Linda Robillard, Sturgeon Bay, and Gwen Simonar, Two Rivers; sister-in-law, Theresa (Howard) Bubnik, Sturgeon Bay, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers Elden "Swagger ," Wallace and Willard. Pooky loved spending time with his family, the Packers, watching the ships in the bay and the boats at the docks, ice fishing, going up north "hunting," and taking rides around the county after going out for breakfast. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was also a member of AMVETS Post 51 of Sturgeon Bay and marched with its drill team at the 1960 Inauguration of President Kennedy. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Larry Zessin officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum with military honors. Special thanks to the Dorchester Health and Rehabilitation for their caring attention and support.
