Obituary:
Rose Eckart, age 83, Antigo, a former Birnamwood area resident, died July 8, 1977 at Superior Nursing Home, Antigo.
She was born August 29, 1893 in Aniwa, the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Sommer) Suess.
Rose was united in marriage to John V. Eckart in 1916 in Aniwa. He preceded her in death in 1957.
Survivors include one son, John Eckart, Germantown, WI; one daughter, Caroline (Joseph) Babich, Milwaukee; one brother, Frank Suess, Birnamwood; two sisters, Bertha Bauer, Birnamwood and Theresa Gardner, Hayward; 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was preceded in death by a son, Edward and a daughter, Helen.
Funeral services were held July 11, 1977 at St. Philomena Catholic Church, Birnamwood. The Rev. Donald Laux officiated. Interment was in Bohemian National Cemetery, Antigo.
