JAMES LONDO
James A. Londo, age 76, of 2401 Polk St., Two Rivers, died Tuesday, August 18, 1998, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Saturday, August 22, 1998, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. John Conrad, with entombment to follow at Calvary Mausoleum.
He was born February 23, 1922, in Wausau, Wis., son of the late Leo and Josephine Steeber Londo. He came to Two Rivers as a child, attended St. Luke’s School, and graduated from Washington High School in 1940. He was a member of the U.S. Army for three yeas during World War II, serving in the European Theater.
He married the former Rita Taddy on December 28, 1946, at St. Luke’s Church, Two Rivers. Jim was a distributor for Verifine Dairy Products for many years, a custodian for St. Luke’s Church, and later for ShopKo Inc., until his retirement in 1985. He was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America since his youth, receiving many awards, including the Award of Merit, St. George, and Silver Beaver. He served as a Cub Master, Scout leader, and chaplain of the Bay Lakes Council. Jim was also a member of the Two Rivers Historical Society, Two Rivers Senior Citizens, the Catholic Knights, Men of St. Lukes, and Rogers St. Fishing Village.
Survivors include his wife, Rita; nine daughters and seven sons-in-law, Linda Londo, Manitowoc, Barb (John) Gelhausen, Manitowoc, Peggy (Richard) Wiedmeyer, Glenbeulah, Wis., Patricia (Dale) Smith, Two Rivers, Ann (Gregg) Wolf, Manitowoc, Lizbeth Londo, Two Rivers, Noelle (Otis Jr.) Huff, Fayetteville, N.C., Julie (Rodney) Davenport, Stuttgart, Germany, Mary (Stephen) Massey, Two Rivers; three sons,, Peter, Madison, Paul, Valders, Tim, Two Rivers; 17 grandchildren, Becky (David) Hinchley, Jacob (Katie) Gelhausen, Greta Gelhausen, David, Katie and Brian Wiedmeyer, Matthew and Andrea Smith, Jeremy, Sara and Bill Kronforst, Otis III (Sophie) Huff, Curtis and Nicholas Huff, Russell and Janella Massey; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer and Geoff Wolf; five great-grandchildren; twin sisters, Bernadine, Two Rivers, Germaine (Rudy) Kalz, Appleton; and in-laws, Rose Taddy, Sister Delores Taddy, Nicaragua, Luke Taddy, Victor (Sylvia) Taddy, Cyril (Avis) Taddy, Ralph Schroeder. Nieces, nephews, their relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ray Taddy; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Schroeder, and Ruth Ann Taddy.
Friends may call at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers, on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon.
Klein & Stangel Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Memorials would be appreciated to Boys Scouts of America Bays Lakes Council, TRCCS endowment fund, St. Luke’s debt retirement fund, or Roncalli High School endowment fund.

Londos Celebrate Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Leo Londo of 3110 School St. Two Rivers, celebrated their 50th Wedding anniversary recently.
The couple was honored with a family dinner at Kohlbeck's Riverview Inn, Reifs Mills, and an open house at their home. the event was also celebrated with a church service at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Two Rivers.
Mrs. Londo, the former Josephine Steber, was born March 22, 1902, at Antigo. Londo was born Dec. 9, 1895, at Wausau. The couple married Aug. 2, 1921, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Antigo, and they lived at Wausau and Antigo prior to moving to Two Rivers.
The Londo's have three children, James of Two Rivers; Mrs. Rudy (Germaine) Kalz of Appleton, and Bernadine at home. The couple has 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to their children who attended the celebration guests attended from Antigo, Merrill, Wausau, Oskosh, West Bend, Kaukauna and Manitowoc.
Mr. and Mrs. Londo both enjoy good health.
