HENRY W. MEISSNER
Henry W. Meissner, 84, of 520 E. Reed Ave., Manitowoc, died Nov. 30, 1982, at
Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran
Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Glenn Unke will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Meissner was born Sept. 10, 1898, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the
late Rudolph and Emma Meissner. In his younger years he worked for Clark Oil
Company, Manitowoc. Then, in 1949, he organized Lake Park Oil Inc., which he
owned and operated until 1968. He currently was employed part time by the
Manitowoc Y.M.C.A. He married Libby Jindra, Dec. 27, 1921, at Manitowoc. She
preceded him in death Dec. 16, 1974. Mr. Meissner was a member of Immanuel
Evangelical Lutheran Church, and a past member of the Men's Club of the church
and the Manitowoc Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William H. and Marilee Meissner of
Plantation, Fla.; a grandson and his wife, Jay P. and Karen Meissner of Atlanta,
Ga.; three brothers and two sisters, Roland Meissner, and Clarence and Eva
Meissner of Manitowoc, and Wilmer and Joyce Meissner of Shoto; two sisters and
brothers-in-law, Esther and Elmer Neubert of Manitowoc, and Evelyn and Reuben
Glihsmann of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., other relatives and friends. He was preceded
in death by four brothers, Edwin, Charles, Rudolph and Harvey, and a sister,
Arline.
Friends may call at Parkside Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday, and at the church from 11:30 a.m.
until the time of services. Memorials are appreciated to Immanuel Evangelical
Lutheran Church or the Manitowoc Y.M.C.A.
