  	RALPH DETJEN It is our painful task to record another death in the village during the past week. Last Saturday morning, little six year-old Ralph Detjen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Detjen, died. The little lad had been suffering much pain for some time from an ulceration in the jaw and the parents were alternatively in hopes and despair of his recovery. Ralph had a lovable disposition, kind to his parents and obedient to his teachers, whose affections he won as well as those of his young school mates. The body was accompanied to the grave by the teachers and pupils of the village school who assisted in doing the last honors to the memory of their little friend and schoolmate.The Manitowoc Pilot, November 4, 1897
