- Notes from Greenstreet
On Saturday morning Mr. Jos. Kohout, Jr. a well known and highly esteemed young man passed away at home here.
He had been ailing for the past eight months, which orignated(sic) with pneumonia. With the aid of medical care he had mearly recovered and his condition was so favorable that his family had hopes of seeing his former health, restored until almost three weeks ago, he became suddently worse, and althongh(sic) during all his days of suffering,
the best of care and all medical aid could do for him, it was of no avail and death came to relieve him.
Mr. Kohout was born in this vicinity about twenty-nine years ago and moved with his parents to Reedsville where they owned a farm. Shortly after, his father retired and disposed of his farm to his son, after which the latter married Miss Emma Novak of that place. They had lived there but a few years when Mr. Kohout became ill and was unable to manage the farm. Four months ago, he removed back to this place among his host of friends and neighbors and led a retired life.
A wife, two daughters, his parents and two sisters, Mrs. G. Kunz of Gibson and Miss Blanche of this place, mourn his loss, together with a large circle of relatives and friends.
His remains were laid to rest at the St. Wencel's Catholic church on Monday, Rev. Cipin officiating. The family has the sympathy of all.The Manitowoc Pilot
