Theresa (Grall) Zipperer, married to Joseph Zipperer, is likely a sister or an aunt to Anton Grall. They farmed the next farm south of Anton Grall's farm, and there were close connections between the Grall and Zipperer families.
Through Ancestry DNA research and family trees, all of these Gralls seem to be descended from Johan Banner Grall/Kral (1769-1838). This is one possible connection between the families, but we can't be sure since records of Anton's parents haven't been found:
However, more recently, Ed Wenzel and Jeannie Tuscl hired a professional researcher, Andreas Hofer, who has discounted the possibility that Michael and Anna Maria (Wittman) Grall were Anton's parents by accounting for all of their children. Several years ago, another researcher (Binsfeld of Sheboygan), contended that Anton's parents were Anton and Theresia Grall. According to the wedding announcement of Josef Zipperer and Theresia Grall, those were also her parents. To date, Andreas Hofer has not been able to find documentation that such a couple existed.
A family history and descendants of Anton and Mary Lemberger Grall, written by Jeannie Tuschl, can be viewed here. The Anton Grall farm on Hwy 10 went to his son John, and then to John's daughter Germaine and her husband Anthony Tuschl, who bought the farm in 1945. The land stayed in the Tuschl family until 2024.
Other descendants of Anton Grall include Wolfgang, who owned the Whitelaw mill until it burned down in 1934, whose son Art and sons later owned the Standard Oil (later BP) gas station in Whitelaw. Anton married Mary Lemberger, and their daughters married into the Brunner, Staudinger and Kohlbeck families.
Johann Grall's (b. 1833) many descendants are also found throughout the area and now of course in many other places. He had one son and ten daughters, who married into the Vogel, Koeppel, Grimm, Staudinger, Ginter, Grassl, Gresl, Zipperer, Braun and Meyer families, so descendants include many different surnames.
Quite a bit of research on Gralls has been done before, including by the late Bob Pritzl.
Descendants through to Carol Grall Jindra
Anton's son Wolfgang married Margaret Wellner. They had four sons and two daughters. Son Roman married Dorothy Brunig in 1934, whose mother was Sophie Benishek, from the large Benishek family near Branch (see photos on previous page). Roman and Dorothy's daughter Carol married Roy Jindra in 1956, settling in Mishicot. Roy Jindra is a descendant of George Jindra.
