JERRY A. AHRENS

Jerry Ahrens, 80, of Route 1, Two Rivers, died Saturday morning in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday in Zion United Methodist Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Bernard Fetterlund will officiate and burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mr. Ahrens was born June 8, 1896 in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late John and Augusta Runge Ahrens. He graduated from Tannery Graded School, Washington High School, Two Rivers; Manitowoc County Normal School and River Falls College in 1919. He was a veteran of World War I.

He married Helen Naser Oct. 18, 1924. They farmed at Route 1, Two Rivers since then. Mr. Ahrens was a longtime member and secretary of the Twin Rivers Coop of Mishicot for 25 years. He was a member and past president of the Mishicot Senior Citizens. He was a 4-H Leader for 21 years. Mr. Ahrens was a member of the Two Rivers American Legion and of the Westshore Sportsmans Club.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jack of Two Rivers and Gene of Sheboygan; a daughter, Mrs. Alan (JoAnn) Groll of Algoma; three sisters, Mrs. Ed (Myrtle) Kastrosky of Two Rivers, Mrs. Milton (Cora) Mueller of Manitowoc and Mrs. George (Mildred) Walters of Spokane, Washington; and 12 grandchildren. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

Friends may call in Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, after 4 pm this Sunday afternoon and Monday from noon until the time of service.

Myrtle Kastrosky, age 95, formerly of Two Rivers, died Saturday evening,
December 10, 1994, at Watertown, Wis.
Funeral Services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 1994, at St.
John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Rev. Edward Stelter will
officiate with burial in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
She was born October 2, 1899, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late John
and Augusta Runge Ahrens. She attended grade school in Two Rivers. On
June 2, 1921, she was married to Edward Kastrosky in Two Rivers. He
preceded her in death February 20, 1978.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, E. James and Beverly
Kastrosky, Lake Mills, Wis.; one sister, Mildred Walters, Spokane, Wash.;
two grandsons, Karl, Lake Mills, Kwinn, Strongsville, Ohio; three great-
grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Deja and Martin Funeral Chapel, Two Rivers, from
7-9 p.m. Tuesday evening and after 12 noon on Wednesday at the church.

Man, 65, Found Dead at Home
The death of Elmer Ahrens, 65, whose badly decomposed body was found in an upstairs bedroom of his home at 6525 6 Mile Road Saturday night was due to natural causes, according to Deputy Racine County Coroner Milton Stoffel.

Sheriff's deputies who investigated the death said Ahrens may have been dead for 10 days. Deputies were asked to investigate Saturday night after neighbors reported that Ahrens had not picked up his mail for at least the last several days.

Funeral services for Elmer C. J. Ahrens, 65, of Racine, a former Town of Two Rivers resident who died at his home Friday, were at 2 p.m. Monday at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, the Rev. Paul W. Funk officiating. Burial was in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mr. Ahrens was born Jan. 7, 1901, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late John C. and Augusta Runge Ahrens. He attended the old Two Rivers High School and in the 1920s moved to Racine where he was engaged as a mason contractor. He was a member of old troop C, 105th Cavalry, Wisconsin National Guard, Two Rivers.

Surviving are a son, Master Sgt. George R. Ahrens at Bunker Hill Air Force Base, Peru, Ind.; four sisters, Mrs. Edward Kastrosky, of Two Rivers; Mrs. Milton Mueller, of Manitowoc; Mrs. Raymond Meineke, of Mishicot and Mrs. George Walters, of Spokane, Wash., and a brother, Jerry A., of Rt. 1, Two Rivers. A brother, Harvey, preceded him in death in 1965.

STOUGHTON - Mrs. Cora L. Ahrens Mueller, age 91, a former Manitowoc resident, died on Monday, February 21, 1994 at the Skaalen Nursing Home, Stoughton, Wisconsin. Mrs. Mueller was born on May 17, 1902, in the Town of Two Rivers, the daughter of the late John and Augusta Runge Ahrens. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1920, and of Manitowoc Teachers College, 1921. She taughter in the towns of Kossuth and Mishicot, and the State Graded School of Mishicot. She married Milton L. Mueller on June 2, 1925. in Two Rivers. She was a resident of Manitowoc for 55 years, and moved to Sun Prairie in 1985. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and past president of St. John's Women's Guild, Sheboygan Regional Women's Guild, Synodical Women's Guild, United Council of Church Women, U.C.T. and the Eastern Star and Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Charles (Sandra) of Sun Prairie, and Edward (Marion) of Neenah; a daughter, Carol (William) Hayes of Winnetka, Illinois; six grandchildren, Kristen (Brook) Redd, Susan (Raimund) Dettmer, Steven Mueller, John Mueller, Paul Mueller, and Patrick Hayes; a great-grandson, Ethan Redd; and two sisters, Myrtle Kastrosky of Watertown, and Mildred Walters of Spokane, Washington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; three brothers, Jerry, Harvey and Elmer; and a sister, Elvira. Friends may call at ST. JOHN'S UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST in Manitowoc, on Saturday, February 26, 1994, from 10:00 a.m. until funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.

Mrs. Alan Groll, 44, of Algoma, died early Saturday morning in Memorial Hospital, Algoma, following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Zion United Methodist Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Herold Gray will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Memorial Gardens, Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Groll, nee JoAnn Ahrens, was born Nov. 5, 1934, in the Town of Two Rivers, daughter of Mrs. Helene Naser Ahrens and the late Jerry Ahrens. She was married to Alan Groll June 23, 1956, in Zion United Methodist Church, Mishciot. They lived in Manitowoc Rapids until June, 1971, when they moved to Algoma. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Algoma.
Survivors include her husband, Alan; two sons, Roger and Kevin, both of Algoma; a daughter, Debra of Algoma; her mother, Mrs. Helene Naser Ahrens of Two Rivers; and two brothers, Jack of Route 1, Two Rivers and Gene of Sheboygan.
