Lloyd John Rohr, age 78 of Manitowoc went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday May 29, 2023 at the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice, Sheboygan Falls with his loving family at his side.
Lloyd was born on October 11, 1944 in Two Rivers to the late Lorraine (Kelliher) and Lewellyn Rohr. He attended St. Luke’s Catholic School, where he discovered his passion for music while performing at a talent show in the 4th grade. Although he was a bit reluctant to perform, he later said “it went pretty well”, and that he became a “celebrity” amongst his classmates. Growing up his father strumming a guitar and singing old cowboy songs, inspired Lloyd to learn to play guitar at age 11. His love for music grew as he spent many years playing with other musicians at county fairs, Port Sandy Bay, Jack’s Beer Garden and Bay Beach Amusement Park. It was his shows at the Two Rivers Community House, though where he met the love of his life. Lloyd and Marie (Rasmussen) were married on June 22, 1963 at First German Ev. Lutheran Church, in Manitowoc. He was most recently a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Marie of nearly 60 years, three children, Dawn (Patrick) Johnson, Egg Harbor, Tammy (Steve) Snyder, Buckeye, AZ, and Mike Rohr, Elm Grove. He was blessed with eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind several siblings, Florian (Marilyn) Rohr, Ralph (Naomi) Rohr, and Margaret Steffens, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donna (Ed) Reznichek, Evie (Gerald) LeClair, Doris Sitman, Joyce (Steven) Vetter, Karen (Terry) Welnicke, Diane Klein (Al Levenhagen), Jeri Rasmussen, Les Behnke and many nieces and nephews.
