Julius Rohr

Julius Rohr, 92, 625 Georgia st., a foreman for the Ahnapee and Western Railroad before his retirement, died at his home Friday of old age complications. He had been ill for five weeks.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Rohr, he was born in Brussels on May 25, 1870 and lived in Casco and Algoma before coming to Sturgeon Bay in April of 1909. He worked for the railroad 48 years.

He married the former Elizabeth Seiler on June 25, 1895. He was a member of the Holy Name Society.

Survivors include the widow; four daughters. Sr. M. Casilda, St. Mary's hospital, Milwaukee, Mrs. Harry (Myrtle) Yano, New York, N.Y.. Mrs. Charles (Ethel) Alcott, Kenosha and Mrs. Roy (Helen) Schaefer, Sturgeon Bay; three sons, Eldon, Kewaunee, Joseph, Sturgeon Bay, and John, Forestville; 24 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday morning at St. Joseph's church, the REv. A. J. Koeferl officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. ARrangements were handled by the Stoneman funeral home.

Sister Casilda

Former Door county resident Sister M. Casilda Rohr, 80, Wheaton, Ill. died there July 30. Funeral services were held there Friday at Our Lady of the Angel Mother House Chapel. The Rev. Wilbert Hegener officiated with interment at Assumption cemetery, Winfield, Ill.

Sister Casilda was born in Forestville on August 19, 1894 to Mr. and Mrs. Julius Rohr. She entered the convent in 1912 and retired in 1971 in Wheaton. During those years she worked as a trained nurse in several hospitals.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Yano, New York; Mrs. Ed (Ethel) Reiman, Kenosha, and Mrs. Roy (Helen) Schaefer, Sturgeon Bay. Also surviving are brothers Alvin, Kewaunee; Joseph, Sturgeon Bay and John, Forestville. Two sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Ethel A Raiman

Ethel Alcott Raiman, 73, 617 15th Place, died Thursday morning at Sheridan Nursing Home.

The daughter of the late Julius and Elizabeth (Seiler) Rohr she was born on April 21, 1909, in Sturgeon Bay.

She was educated in the schools of Sturgeon Bay and has lived in Kenosha since 1927.

On March 2, 1929, she married Charles Alcott. He died June 16, 1966. She married Edward G. Raiman on Dec. 29, 1971.

She was a waitress at Krok’s Restaurant 16 years before retiring in 1971.

She was a member of St. George Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. John (Sandra) Cole, Kenosha; two brothers, Joseph Rohr, Sturgeon Bay, and John Rohr, Forestville; a sister Mrs. Roy (Helen) Schaefer, Sturgeon Bay; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin; and three sisters, Sister Casilda, Myrtle Yano, and Edith Kramer.
