    Mrs. Leona H. Kappelman

    Mrs. Leona H. Kappelman, age 83, formerly of 6422 Old Hwy. Q, Manitowoc, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at North Ridge Medical and Rehab Center.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2001, at Rockwood Lutheran Church, Rockwood. The Rev. John R. Hildebrandt will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum, townsh ip of Kossuth.

    Leona was born April 18, 1918, at Mishicot, daughter of the late Hugo and Ida Wenholz Ploeckelmann. Leona grew up in Mishicot attending local schools, graduating from Mishicot High School and also Milwaukee School of Nursing as a registered nurse. She worked at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, and for a number of years as director of nursing at Family Heritage Nursing Home, Manitowoc.

    Leona married Paul C. Kappelman, Sept. 2, 1946, at St. Peter's Evangelic al Lutheran Church, Mishicot.

    Mrs. Leona H. Kappelman, age 83, formerly of 6422 Old Hwy. Q, Manitowo c, died Friday, June 1, 2001, at North Ridge Medical and Rehab Center.

    Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 4, 2001, at Rockwo od Lutheran Church, Rockwood.

    Relatives and friends may call at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funer al Home, Manitowoc, from 5 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 3 and 9 a.m. on Mond ay until the time of services at Rockwood Lutheran Church.

    PAUL W. KAPPELMAN
    (1947 - 2009)

    Paul Wilbert Kappelman, age 61, of rural Two Rivers, died on Friday morning, Jan. 2, 2009, at home after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

    Paul was born on Sept. 7, 1947, in Manitowoc, son of the late Paul C. and Leona (Ploeckelman) Kappelman. He was a graduate of Manitowoc Lutheran High School with the class of 1965 and graduated from UW-Madison Short Course in 1967. Paul married Donna J. Rusch on November 28, 1970 at Trinity Lutheran Church. He farmed the family homestead until 1989. Paul was later employed by Hamp-Haven Farms, L & S Farms, and Green Bay Dressed Beef until his illness. Paul was a dedicated and hard worker who will be missed by many. He was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. Paul enjoyed doing home repairs, playing sheepshead, NASCAR racing - especially watching Matt Kenseth - and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a proud Green Bay Packer fan and stockowner.

    Survivors include his wife of 38 years: Donna Kappelman, Manitowoc; his children: Rich (Sandi) Kappelman, Valders; Craig (Jackie) Kappelman, Denmark; Jennifer Kappelman, Port Washington, Kristin Kappelman, Milwaukee: two special grandchildren: Kirsten and Devan Kappelman; three step grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law: Liz (Wayne) Otto, Valders, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Sandy (Bernie) Weidling, Valders; Pauline Rusch, Manitowoc; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Bill (Liz) Rusch, Waupaca; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Connie (Jim) Mangin, Valders; Lori (Ron) Kerr, Tigard, Ore.; nieces and nephews: Karen and Joe Simon and their daughter, Anna; Mark Otto; Lisa Otto; Roger and Tricia Weidling and their children Vanessa and Brandon; Troy weidling; Brian Rusch; Kristopher (Lena) Rusch; James Rusch and his son, Oliver; Katherine Rusch; Chris (Betty) Mangin; Shawn (Lisa) Mangin and their son, Seth; Patrick (Jamie) Mangin; godchildren: Karen Simon, Kristina Gomm, Susan Rogne, Chris Mangin.

    Paul was preceded in death by his parents: Paul C. and Leona Kappelman, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Ruben and Dorothy Rusch; and his brother-in-law: Roger Rusch.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 916 Pine St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul Schossow and the Rev. Nicholas Maglietto will officiate with burial at Knollwood Memorial Gardens, 1500 Hwy 310, Manitowoc.

    Relatives and friends may call at the church from 4 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009, and again on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School.

    The family wishes to send a special thank you to the Aurora Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, 3rd floor nurses at Aurora Medical Center, and Barb Koeperich of Health Core for their compassionate care and support given to Paul and his family.
