    HEINRICH MEINEKE

    Henry Meinecke(sic), a well known resident of Two Rivers, responded to the final summons late Tuesday afternoon at the Holy Family hospital in this city, where he had been receiving treatment. Deceased suffered from consumption, but it was not until recently that the ravages of the dread disease became apparent to friends and then he was taken to the hospital in the hope that the care which he would receive would prolong life.

    He was 43 years of age and was well known here. He served as a juror last fall and frequently made visits to the city. The body was taken to Two Rivers for burial.

    Chas. Meinecke(sic), residing three miles north of Two Rivers on the
    Kewaunee Road, was severely injured Monday morning, sustaining a broken
    arm and other injuries. He fell from his milk wagon while taking the
    morning's milking to the Range Line Creamery. Mr. Meinecke was well
    known having resided in the Town of Two Rivers for many years.

    Charles Meinecke(sic) passed away at Holy Family Hospital Monday
    morning. The misfortune experienced last week in falling from his wagon
    while driving to the Rangeline Cheese Factory resulted in internal
    injuries which caused his death.
    Deceased was born in 1861 in the Town of Two Rivers where he has always
    resided. He was held in high regard by the community as a possessor of
    fine qualities of manhood and good citizenship. He was a member of the
    town board of education and has for the past 30 years been agent for the
    Mishicot Fire Insurance Co. He was a trustee of St. John's Lutheran
    Church. The funeral was today from the home with services at St. John's
    Lutheran Church. Deceased leaves a widow, six sons, Erwin, Raymond,
    Herbert, William, Harold and Erhart and three daughters, Mrs. Alvin E.
    Jindra, Mrs. Wm Menges and Miss Esther. Also two sisters, Mrs. William
    Schaefer of Two Rivers and Mrs. John Wetencamp of California.

    CHARLES MEINEKE

    Notes from Two Rivers:
    Mr. Chas Meineke, aged 59, died Monday morning at Holy Family
    Hospital where he was taken two weeks ago after having been hurt
    in an accident. While Mr. Meineke was on his way to the creamery
    he fell from his wagon and received internal injuries. He was born
    in the Town of Two Rivers, September 2, 1861 and resided there his
    entire life. He is survived by his wife and nine children, six boys
    and three girls who are Mrs. Alvin F. Jindra, Mrs. Wm Menges, Erwin,
    Raymond, Esther, Herbert, William, Harold and Erhardt, also by two
    sisters, Mrs. Philip Schaefer of the Town of Two Rivers and Mrs.
    John Wetencamp of Altadena, California. Chas Meinke was a prosperous
    farmer and was highy respected by all who knew him.

    Mrs. Mary Schaefer, 80, of 1607 2nd street, Two Rivers, died Monday night.

    Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Klein and Stangel, Inc., funeral home and at 2 o'clock at the St. Johns Lutheran church, Two Rivers. Burial will be in Pioneers Rest cemetery.

    Born Mary Meinecke in 1864 on her parents' farm in the town of Two Rivers, Mrs. Schaefer was married to Philip J. Schaefer in 1886. The couple operated a farm in the town of Two Rivers until Mr. Schaefer retired and moved to Two Rivers 21 years ago. Mr. Schaefer died in 1940. The home farm is now operated by a son, Philip Jr.

    Surviving are three sons, Philip Jr., of the town of Two Rivers, William of Two Rivers and Royal, an aviator, now associated with the Consolidated Aircraft corp. at Sacramento, Calif. There are two daughters, Mrs. Arthur Gloe of Two Rivers and Mrs. Louisa Wiltrout of Oslo, Minn. Six grandchildren also survive.

    The body may be viewed at the funeral home in Two Rivers after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

    Mrs. Otto Ulrich, 77, of 1622-28th St., Two Rivers, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon at the home.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Edward Stelter officiating. Burial will be in Pioneers' Rest Cemetery.

    Mrs. Ulrich, nee Erma Meineke, was born Jan. 2, 1895, in the Town of Two Rivers, a daughter of the late Henry and Emma Schmidt Meineke. She attended St. John Parochial School and the former Manitowoc Business College. She was a bookkeeper at the former Two Rivers Mercantile Co. for a number of years before her marriage June 8, 1915, to Otto Ulrich at Two Rivers. He preceded her in death July 16, 1971. She was a member of St. John Ladies Aid Society.

    Surviving are a son, Karl of Two Rivers; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur Thomaschefsky of Two Rivers, and Mrs. Walter Doehler of Wauwatosa, and a brother, Norman Meineke of Madison.

    Friends may call at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, from 5 o'clock this Friday afternoon until 9 o'clock this Friday evening. The casket will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday where the body will lie in state until the time of services.

    Oconomowoc - a frmer Oconomowoc High School teacher and assistant county agricultural aent, Norman T. Meineke, 76, died Friday at his home in Madison. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today a (sic) the Notbohm Funeral Home in Oconomowoc, with the Rev. Stanley Klyve of Madison officiating. The body was in state Sunday. Burial was in La Belle Cemetery.

    Meineke taught general science and agriculture for 20 years beginning in 192. He resigned to become farm manager at the Pabst Farms, a job he held for about a year.

    Then he was named assistant county agent and held that position until 1946. After that he sold life insurance. He moved to Madison in 1956.

    Meineke was a veteran of World War I, a former member of Oconomowoc Legion Post 91 and a member of Midvale Lutheran Church in Madison.

    Survivors are daughters, Mrs. Newton (Dorothy) Hahn of Mundelein, Ill., Mrs. John (Lucille) Eising and Mrs. Patrick (Helen) Pauloski, both of Oconomowoc; sisters Mrs. Walter (Clara) Doehler of Wauwatosa and mers Leila Tomaschefsky of Two Rivers.

    Mrs. William Menges, Sr., 81, of Larrabee, Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died Monday evening at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.

    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Gibson. The Rev. Percy Damrow will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Mrs. Menges, nee Nora Meineke, was born April 21, 1892, in the Town of Two Rivers, daughter of the late Charles and Minnie Schmidt Meineke. She was married to William Menges June 12, 1917, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. The couple operated a grocery store at Larrabee many years. Mr. Menges preceded her in death in October of 1972. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Church, Ladies Bible Class and the Larrabee Homemakers Club.

    Survivors include two sons and one daughter; five brothers, Raymond, Herbert
    and William of Mishicot and Harold and Erhardt, of Two Rivers; 27 grandchildren
    and 11 great grandchildren, two sisters and a granddaughter preceded her in
    death.

    Friends may call at Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, after 4 p.m. Wednesday until noon Thursday and then at the church until the time of service.

    ERWIN H. MEINEKE

    Erwin H. Meineke, 67, of 2105 Byron St., Chicago, Ill., died Saturday afternoon at Ravenswood Hospital, Chicago, where he had been a patient for 24 days. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers. The Rev. M.W. Oechler of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate and burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

    Mr. Meineke was born June 18, 1894, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late Charles and Minnie Schmidt Meineke. He attended School District No. 1 and Washington High School, Two Rivers and the University of Wisconsin School of Agriculture Madison. For a number of years, he was manager of the Cow Testing Association in the Town of Two Rivers. In 1920 he moved to Chicago where in 1930 he formed the Builders Supply Company. He was associated with the Schmidt Brothers Construction Company of Chicago and directed the construction of the
    present Two Rivers Post Office.

    He married the former Hilda Mertens in Two Rivers on Nov. 30, 1920. She preceded him in death one year ago.

    Mr. Meineke was a member of the Medina Country Club Chicago, a veteran of World War I, having served 18 months in France, a second degree Mason, and a member of the Constellation Lodge No. 892 and the Medina Shrine Club of Chicago.

    Survivors include five brothers, Raymond, Herbert and William of Mishicot, Harold and Erhardt of Two Rivers, and two sisters, Mrs. William Menges of Larrabee, and Mrs. Dwight Holsapple of Beverly Hills, Calif. One sister preceded him in death.

    Mrs. Raymond Meineke, 69, of Rt. 1, Mishicot, died Friday evening at Family Heritage Nursing Home, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Mishicot. The Rev. Herbert Kesting will officiate and burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

    Mrs. Meineke, nee Elvira Ahrens, was born July 11, 1904, in the Town of Two Rivers, daughter of the late John and Gustie Runge Ahrens. She was married to Raymond Meineke Sept. 19, 1928, at Green Bay. She was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Church and Ladies Bible Hour of the church, Lutheran High School Guild, Mishicot Senior Citizens and After Sunset Homemakers Club. She was also a member and past president of the auxiliary to Robert E. Burns American Legion Post No. 165, of Two Rivers.

    Survivors include her husband, a brother, Jerry, of Rt. 1, Two Rivers; and three sisters, Mrs. Edward (Myrtle) Kastrosky, of Two Rivers, Mrs. Milton
    (Cora) Mueller, of Manitowoc and Mrs. George (Mildred) Walters, of Spokane, Wash. Two brothers preceded her in death.

    Friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, after 3 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday and then at the church until the time of service.

    Mrs. Arthur Gloe, 93, formerly of 1615-22nd St., Two Rivers, died Tuesday morning, April 28, at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers.

    Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. The Rev. Martin Scheele will officiate and burial will be in Pioneers Rest Cemetery, Two Rivers.

    Mrs. Gloe, nee Mary Schaefer, was born Sept. 9, 1887, in the Town of Two Rivers, daughter of the late Philip and Mary Meineke Schaefer. She attended a district school and was married to Arthur Gloe Nov. 16, 1909 at Two Rivers. He preceded her in death May 29, 1974. Mrs. Gloe was a member of St. John Ladies Society.

    Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hazel Thompson of Baraboo and two brothers, William Schaefer Sr. of Two Rivers and Royal Schaefer of Sacramento, Calif.

    Philip Schaefer, 87, of 545 River Dr., Mishicot, died Monday night at Kewaunee Hospital. Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday in Klein and Stangel Inc.

    Funeral Home, Two Rivers. The Rev. Martin Scheele will officiate and burial will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

    Mr. Schaefer was born Feb. 6, 1891 in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late Philip and Mary Meineke Schaefer Sr. He married Helen Levy Sept. 27, 1927 in Chicago. He had been a foreman at the former Aluminum Goods and farmed in the Town of Two Rivers before retiring and moving to Mishicot. He was a member of Mishicot Sportsman Club and Two Rivers Racing Pigeon Club. Mrs. Schaefer preceded him in death March 1, 1972.

    Survivors include two brothers, William Sr. of Two Rivers and Royal of Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. May Gloe of Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Two sisters, Louise and Emma preceded him in death.

    William Schaefer Sr., 89, of 1807 Emmet Street, Two Rivers, died Saturday evening, August 10, at North Ridge Care Center, Manitowoc.

    Mr. Schaefer was born November 23, 1895, in the Town of Two Rivers, son of the late Phillip and Mary Meineke Schaefer Sr. Mr. Schaefer was a Veteran of World War I.

    He married the former Helen Martin on December 12, 1923, at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers.

    Mr. Schaefer was a long time employee of Hamilton Industries, retiring 24 years ago. He was a member of Two Rivers Senior Citizens and Hamilton Good Fellowship Club.

    Survivors include his wife, Helen; three sons and two daughters-in-law, William Jr. and Jacqueline Schaefer, John and Kathleen Schaefer and Robert Schaefer, all of Two Rivers; a brother and a sister-in-law, Royal and Lydia Schaefer of Sumner, Washington; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survived.

    He was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.

    Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Memorials would be appreciated to Manitowoc Lutheran High School.

    Mrs. Ida Kaderbeck

    Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Kaderabeck, 44 who died in her home 1607 Genesee Street, following a short illness, will be held in Holy Name of Jesus church at 10 A.M. Monday. Burial will be in Pine Hill cemetery.

    Mrs. Kaderabeck is the wife of Alois Kaderbeck, who has enged in the bakery business for many years in the east side.

    Besides her husband, she is surved by a daughter, Myra; her mother, Mrs. Mary Schmeltzer; a sister, Adeline and brother, Adolph.
