Between 1790 to 1906: Women were automatically naturalized when their husbands were naturalized, but they are almost never listed by name on the husband's paperwork. Women who marry citizens gain citizenship without any additional paperwork. US-born women who marry non-citizens automatically lose their citizenship.

Her husband died in 1897 so it is unusual that she would be naturalized in 1905. Unless there was an issue that they were not actually married when he obtained his citizenship, the 1905 date is inaccurate.

BODY OF FILTRATION PLANT OPERATOR DISCOVERED IN TANK

Two Rivers, Wis-(AP)-The body of Walter Jindra, 42-year-old operator and plumber at the municipal filtration plant, was found in a water-filled filter tank last night.

Coroner Gerald A. Rau ordered an inquest for 2 p.m. today, remarking that " there are so many angles to the case that I refuse to make any statements until after the inquest."

Meanwhile, Chief of Police John J. Rebman went to Madison for tests of Jindra's blood and urine.

Two men and a woman, who Sheriff Norman Berkedal said were believed to have been with Jindra early last night, were detained for questioning at the county jail in Manitowoc.

August Gripe, watchman at the waterworks plant, discovered Jindra's body about 9 p.m., three and a half hours after Jindra's tour of duty ended.

Jindra, married and the father of two children, had been employed at the plant since its completion in 1935. He was a past commander of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars post.

Jindra Death due to Drowning, Jury finds

Two Rivers, Wis-(AP)- Walter Jindra, 44, operator and plumber at the municipal filtration plant whose body was found in a filter tank Wednesday night, came to his death by drowning, a coroner's jury decided late yesterday.

Two men and a woman, who had been held as material witnesses, were released following the verdict.

Jindra's body was found by a night watchman more than three hours after the plant ordinarily closed for the night.

Chief of Police John J. Rebman said a thorough investigation of all circumstances surrounding Jindra's death would be made, adding:

"There are some loose ends remaining after the coroner's jury verdict of death by drowning which have to be looked into to determine if any criminal action is warranted."

The city council expressed itself in favor of an autopsy at city expense. City Attorney F.W. Dicke was ordered to proceed.

Although the verdict of the coroner's jury did not refer to accidental drowning, District Attorney Patrick Dewane said there was anything other than accidental.

Lie Detector Will Be Used in Death Case

Manitowoc, Wis.-Mysterious circumstances surround the investigation into the death of Walter Carroll, proprietor of a Two Rivers filling station, who died Thursday, three days after he had his skull fractured after being hit by a car driven by Mrs. Ray Senglaub, Two Rivers.

Mr. and Mrs. Senglaub are now in Chicago, where they were taken by District Attorney Patrick Dewane and Chief of Police J.J. Rebman of Two Rivers for a lie detector test.

The district attorney said every effort is being made to "get to the bottom of the case".

Though no official statement has been made, the filtration plant death of Walter Jindra is being stirred up again in connection with the Carroll case. Jindra's body, clad only in socks and underwear, was found in the filtration plant tank on March 27.

Many of the same people questioned in the Carroll death were involved in the Jindra case. Drowning was the official reason given for Jindra's death, but no definite explanation of how Jindra came to be in the tank was ever uncovered.

Lie Detector Indicates Death was Accidental

Manitowoc-Lie detector tests given to Mr. and Mrs Walter Senglaub, Two Rivers, showed that the death of Walter Carroll "was an accident in every sense of the word," District Attorney Patrick Dewane was informed Thursday.

Carroll died of a skull fracture last Thursday after he was apparently hit by a car driven by Mrs. Senglaub. The experts further declared that Senglaub "has no further information concerning the drowning of Jindra (Walter Jindra Two Rivers filtration plant employe whose body was found in the bottom of a water vat last March) and that he had nothing to do with his wife's accident.

The Senglaubs were examined in Chicago when they volunteered to undergo the tests. The Senglaubs drove to Chicago in their own car where they m et Dewane and Police Chief J.J. Rebman, Two Rivers, Tuesday.

Dewane announced Thursday that he and Dr. Gerald Rau, county coroner, have decided to hold an inquest into Carroll's death Monday morning.
