Jindrich Radieg Family

Jindrich and Anna, daughter of Johann WOTRUBA, were married on 12 March 1812 in the village of Radonice, Bohemia. Jindrich died 3 July 1863, in the village of Malonice. Anna died sometime before Feb of 1848.

Many years ago, while researching, I came across the fact that my 2nd great grandfather, Peter RADEJ, married Anna HERLIK. When researching the HERLIK name it was discovered that Anna's mother's name was also RADEJ. At the time it was dismissed as a common enough name that they were probably not related.

I discovered in 2018, this was an incorrect assumption. Peter Radej's father is Mathias Radieg, son of Jindrich and Anna (WOTRUBA) RADIEG and Anna Herlik's mother is Maria Radieg, daughter of Jindrich and Anna (WOTRUBA) RADIEG. Peter (my 2nd great grandfather and Anna Herlik Radey my 2nd great grandmother were first cousins. You can read more on how that marriage came to be on the Peter Radey page.

I have been able to identify 6 children:

• Johann, born 10 April 1817
• Dorothea, born 1820
• Maria, born 3 February 1824; (Ellen's direct ancestor)
• Anna, born 10 April 1827
• Katharina, born 10 April 1830
