John Francis Jindra, Sr. was born 01 May 1879 in Reifs Mills, Wisconsin, and died 27 Jan 1962 at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, WI. He married Marie E. Ginzl on 09 Feb 1900 in Manitowoc, daughter of Josef Ginzl and Alzabeta Skrumska. The couple were married for 61 years at the time of John's death. Marie was born 03 Nov 1880 in Bohemia, and died 07 Apr 1970 in Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

In 1900 John lived with his brother Wenzel in Mishicott Township according to the 1900 census.

In December 7, 1918 Joseph Ginzel sold property in Sheboygan to John Jindra for $1.

The couple purchased Kingsbridge tavern, dance hall, and hotel from John's brother Wencil and operated it for 14 years. There were barns and horses behind the tavern. Later they moved to the Shoto farm at Rt. 2, Two Rivers, remaining for 16 years and retired in 1959 and moved to Manitowoc. John was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 40 years.

Marie Ginzl Jindra came to this country as a young girl with her parents, settling in the Town of Gibson.
