Mary Jindra was born 19 June 1877 in Wisconsin, and died 11 April 1958. She married Andrew H. Peltier on 17 February on 17 February 1896 in Manitowoc County, WI. Andrew was the son of George Peltier and Harriet Ruelle. He was born 1 May 1870 in Wisconsin, and died 16 August 1958.

Between 1900-1910 Andrew and his family changed their name from Peltier to Pelkey. Later, younger members of the family went back to using the last name Peltier.

The couple farmed in the Mishicot area, most likely at his father’s farm on the corner of Ridge Rd. and W. Church St., (according to plat maps) west of what is now Fox Hills, and not far from the Jindra farm.

The Ruelle (Andrew’s maternal family) property was later owned by the Jonas, Blum, then the Jonas family again. (another connection between the Jindras and the Chaloupkas).

The couple moved to Manitowoc in 1906 where Mr. Pelkey was employed by Manitowoc Northern Traction Co., Smalley Manufacturing Co. and Worel Hardware. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Sacred Heart Church and was the last of 17 Peltier children.
